Expand your user base - creating value for your target audience
When Helvetia started the journey with leanIX more than six years ago, leanIX was initially positioned as tool by architects for architects. As a result, scope, acceptance and impact was limited to a small architecture community. In the meantime, we have managed to get more than 350 unique users from IT and business departments to log in every month. In this session Tobias Vogel will outline what Helvetia has perceived as critical success factors to achieve this and he will talk about some lessons learnt.

Microservices – the good, the not so good, and the ugly
In the recent past Microservices architecture has been promoted as the holy grail for Cloud development. There is no “serious” Cloud provider without talking about Microservices. For some of us “well-seasoned” architects and developers it sometimes feels like déjà vu, seen with EJB or SOA. Just to be clear, Microservice Architecture can be a valid and excellent choice – if it corresponds to the challenge at hand. Just defining all challenges as “nails”, because one has a great “hammer” at hand, is maybe a kind over-simplification. In this session we would like to provide some guidelines and examples when to apply Microservices and when other approaches could be more efficient. According to the idea of defining Patterns and Anti-Patterns we would like to share some of our experience and approaches from the manufacturing world.

Information Security - an important benefit-oriented use case for EAM
Information security risks continue to increase. A systematic and manageable management of information security is crucial. Integration with EAM can make a big contribution to this. The assets from EAM and the impact and dependency analysis are essential for the management of information security. Both the determination of protection requirements as well as the GAP analysis and the risk and measure management focus on the correct business and technical structures. The effectiveness and at the same time the efficiency is increased. The lecture outlines the challenges of information security as well as possible solutions in an integrated set of tools.
5:05 PM CEST
Supporting Information Security Management with LeanIX
The goal of an Information Security Management System (ISMS) is the targeted, risk-oriented and efficient implementation of security measures. To achieve this the processes, data and IT systems which are worthy of protection need to be identified. Due to the high number of IT systems and their interfaces as well as the integration of external service providers a structured approach is required.
In this presentation we will show how we integrated the ISMS approach into the Enterprise Architecture Model and used LeanIX to maintain a comprehensive and easy to use data basis for ISMS and other management systems. Based on a protection requirement assessment ("Schutzbedarfsfeststellung") for the three dimensions: confidentiality, integrity and availability the protection requirements of IT applications, interfaces and IT components are derived according to the maximum principle. This approach allows security measures to be defined for the individual components of the IT landscape according to the protection requirements of the processed data.
